THE PLAY "DUCK HUNTING" BY A. VAMPILOV (ON THE PROBLEM OF THE COMPOSITION)

Abstract. The article deals with A. Vampilov’s play "Duck Hunting", the construction features of which are noted by many literary critics and theatre critics. The attention of the author is drawn to the originality of the composition, the position of the hero in relation to the inner pictures, explaining such a complex organization of the play. The work shows that the method of "picture in the picture" ("scene on stage") in the play is used to mark the boundaries between the main action and the situations reproduced by the hero. Only the definition of the hero as an external observer allows selecting internal scenes and designating them as "pictures".
