Abstract. The media play a huge role in forming opinions and stereotypes in the mass consciousness of the public. The study of Ramzan Kadyrov’s media image allows us to assess the attitude of the US press to Russia and its politicians. The aim of the work is to identify the linguistic means that form the image of Chechnya leader in the American media. For the first time, the subject of the research is the linguistic features of evaluative statements that construct R. Kadyrov’s image in the US media resources. The results show that the linguistic means used in the American media create a negative image of the President of Chechnya.
