COMPARATIVE AND CONTRASTIVE ANALYSIS OF NUCLEAR LEXEMES OF THE CONCEPT AIR IN THE RUSSIAN AND FRENCH LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article provides a comparative analysis of the nuclear lexemes of the concept AIR/ВОЗДУХ in the Russian and French languages. Similarities and differences between the French and Russian lexemes are identified. The findings allow the authors to conclude that the semantic filling of the lexemes "воздух" and "air"" coincides in almost all their meanings: "mixture of gases forming the Earth’s atmosphere", "inspiratory environment of living beings", "free space over the Earth", "environment". The distinctive feature of the nuclear lexeme "воздух" in the Russian language is the meaning "veil covering the Eucharistic cup". In the French language, the nuclear lexeme "air" is distinguished by the meaning "gas motion".
