DYNAMICS OF DEVELOPMENT OF ONOMASTIC SPACE OF THE BRITISH AND RUSSIAN FAIRY TALE

Abstract. The article discusses the semantics and etymology of spellonyms - nominations of wizards - that allows specifying the distinctive features of the fragments of the Russian and British fairy tale worldviews. According to the suggested classification, spellonyms are divided on the basis of the common and individual features of the nominated objects. The authors single out monomial and binomial nominations. The group of monomial names includes common nouns. The binomial names are composed of phrases that include canonical and non-canonical names and additions - characteristics containing an emotional-aesthetic assessment or reflecting the status and features of a character. Typification of characters is specific for a fairy tale, therefore common names prevail among wizards’ names.
