PRAGMATIC ASPECT OF DISINFORMATION IN THE MEDIA TEXT

Abstract. The article aims to identify disinformation in the media text. Scientific originality of the study involves the application of the pragma-linguistic analysis to the media texts containing the elements of disinformation because they violate the cooperative principle. The findings indicate that the media texts violating H. P. Grice’s maxims in proposition can’t be critically evaluated, they cause and implant cognitive distortions. The maxim of the manner is most frequently violated. Deliberate but apportioned violation of the cooperative principle helps to manipulate readers’ consciousness.
