CONTEXTUAL ARGUMENTATION STRATEGIES IN THE RUSSIAN LEADERS’ POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article is devoted to argumentation as intellectual practice in different spheres. The argumentative component of politicians’ speech is defined as a basis of speech influence and the main means of achieving the goal in the process of communication with the mass audience. The use of proverbs is a tactical tool in the process of implementing the contextual strategy. The linguistic analysis of argumentation is conducted by the example of well-known politicians’ speech from the point of view of the system approach. The role of proverbs in speech is determined as arguments expressing cultural-historical and value-based experience.
