Abstract. The article reveals the validity of the existence of such a scientific field as the ecology of language (linguistic ecology). Today, ideal speech is utopia, something impossible, difficult to repeat, "alien", unusual. It’s rare to hear correct speech. The current state of the language causes well-founded fears among specialists, writers and those who are not indifferent to the fate of the Russian language, since language anomalies have turned it into something hardly recognizable. Therefore, it has become necessary to consider language problems from the point of view of linguistic ecology, which is assigned the function of protecting, purifying and deliverance of the modern Russian language from foreign elements.
