INTERLINE SYNTACTIC RELATIONS IN IGOR KHOLIN’S VERS LIBRE

Abstract. The article describes interline syntactic relations in vers libre of a vivid representative of the second wave of the Russian avant-garde Igor Kholin (1920-1999). 87 examples from 7 texts are analysed using A. I. Smirnitsky’s, M. L. Gasparov’s and T. V. Skulacheva’s methodology. The findings indicate that verse boundary frequently runs through weak syntactic relations, it emphasizes the completeness of a line, creates a rhythmic accent on attributive and indivisible combinations, which complete the basic message and are characterized by expressivity. The author introduces the statistical data on interline relations in I. Kholin’s vers libre into scientific use and shows that they are determined by artistic intention, semantic division and meaning of concrete words and sentences.
