Abstract. The article examines the peculiarities of representing a woman-mother’s image in the Bashkir epos "Ural-batyr". The specificity of the epic Woman lies in the fact that she personifies national ideals of beauty, motherhood and a courageous defender of her country and people. Her image personifies the Bashkir conceptions of a woman - courageous warrior, patroness of triumphs in rightful struggle. The mythological mother is ever-present: Umai (Humay) penetrates underwater, into terrestrial and celestial spheres; she is a mighty deity, who personifies the conception of the integrity of the Mother, country and nation. It is shown that Humay’s, Aihylu’s, Gulistan’s (the daughter of Katil and Yanbike) images include the mythologemes "woman - patroness of the world", "woman - honest wife", "woman - Mother". Ural-batyr’s three wives (Katil’s daughter, Algyr-batyr’s daughter, the Sun’s daughter) are the mothers of Ural’s three sons and his nephew - Shulgan’s son.
