SPEECH GENRE "VOICE-OVER" AS SUBJECT OF DISCOURSE ANALYSIS (BASED ON THE GERMAN TALK SHOW ABOUT HEALTH)

Abstract. The article addresses the problem of such a speech genre as "voice-over". The study material is television releases of the German talk show about health. Basing on the video analysis method, the paper identifies four off-screen commentary functions: informative, descriptive-informative, explanatory, and influencing ones. Through the comparative analysis the author studies and describes these functions in detail. The paper summarizes some results of the study of the "voice-over" speech genre functions, thanks to which it is possible to present information from the medical sphere, which is difficult for perception, lucidly, clearly and interestingly, and to bring it to the mass audience.
