ROLE OF COMPONENT STRUCTURE IN THE FORMATION OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNIT SEMANTICS

Abstract. The article examines the influence of certain features of free word combinations on the formation of stable phrase semantics. The analysis focuses on phraseological unit components that have their own meaning and, extending the semantics of a phraseological unit, partially realize their own semantics. The conclusions are made that phraseologization, mostly affecting procedural lexical constructions, morphological and syntactic arrangement, component variability, frequently leads to the formation of free phrases.
