TEXT GRAPHEMIC TOOLS AS A CATEGORY OF TEXTUAL AND DISCURSIVE ANALYSIS

Abstract. The article introduces the category "text graphemic tools", which represents the composition of graphemes used while creating a certain text. Originality of the suggested approach lies in the fact that it allows describing both standard texts and texts with non-conventional graphics (mixture of alphabets, author’s original graphemes, reinterpretation of graphemes, etc.). The research findings indicate that text graphemic tools are discursively determined. The following influencing factors are identified: intention of the text, its discursive and stylistic affiliation, genre conventions, author’s meta-linguistic intentions, text-formative means, etc.
