Abstract. The article considers literary sources of early medieval England. The Anglo-Saxon period is considered as the most important one in the British history, and the author seeks to examine a wide range of the Anglo-Saxon literary sources written in Old English. The comparative analysis allows identifying the value of the sources under study from historical, culturological, literary and linguistic viewpoints.
