IDEOLOGEME "WESTERN VALUES" IN THE ASPECT OF CORPUS-BASED STUDIES (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract. The article considers the problem of defining an important concept of modern linguistics - an ideologeme. The paper aims to identify common and specific characteristics of universal ideologemes to which the author refers the ideologeme "Western values". Originality of the study involves the application of corpus-based methodology to provide a linguistic description of the ideologeme "Western values" with a view to identify the essential features of the analysed phenomenon. The findings indicate that the ideologeme "Western values" is characterized by a set of stable conceptual features and a mixed axiological modus.
