INVECTIVE STATEMENTS AS INTERIORIZATION OF ACTIONS

Abstract. On the basis of the aggressive statements made in the publications of Spanish newspapers against tourists, the article justifies that these statements are of invective character. Understanding the invective in the broadest sense as any verbal aggression, the author concludes that in the course of invective activity, the complex process of the interiorization of actions, which can in certain spatial and temporal coordinates unfold into the acts of direct aggression provoked by the growing "tourism-phobia" in Spain, occurs. In considering some of invective statements from the point of view of the speech acts theory, their strong directive illocutionary component is noted. Also, the author concludes that the examples of invective statements about tourists can become a signal system for further prevention of possible offenses.
