GENDER STEREOTYPES IN G. ISHAKI’S WORKS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE STORIES "ОСТАЗБИКЭ" AND "СУННЕТЧЕ-БАБАЙ")

Abstract. The article deals with gender stereotypes in the works by the Tatar writer Gayaz Iskhaki "Остазбикэ" and "Суннетче-бабай" . On the basis of the analysis of the male and female behavior models that are reconstructed in the stories, the role of gender stereotypes in the creation of female and male images is established. The national peculiarities of the heroes’ characters in the stories "Остазбикэ" and "Суннетче-бабай" are identified in connection with the prevalent settled ideas about male and female principles in Tatar culture. The correlation between universal (panhuman) ideas about male and female principles and the gender stereotypes conditioned by the nationality is revealed.
