HISTORY AND CURRENT STATE OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY AND POPULARIZATION OF THE MYTHOLOGICAL BAIT "SAK-SOK"

Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of the history and current state of the study and popularization of the most widely-used up to the present day bait "Sak-Sok". The folklore work exists not only in the Republic of Bashkortostan but also beyond. During field work, scientists-folklorists have recorded a huge number of texts of this bait. Despite active existence of the plot among the people, in Bashkir folklore, the bait "Sak-Sok" is little-studied; there are no monographs devoted to the research of the work yet. There are only special articles in collections, the bait is considered in introductions or commentaries of the book series "Bashkir Folk Art". Also, on the basis of the plot of the studied bait, novels and plays are written, performances are staged, a short film is screened.
