IDEOLOGEME AS A KEY CATEGORY OF MEDIA DISCOURSE IN THE PERIOD OF INFORMATION WAR (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE COVERAGE OF THE EVENTS IN UKRAINE IN 2013-2014 IN THE ENGLISH PRESS)

Abstract. The article examines various approaches to the interpretation of ideologeme in linguistics, analyzes the essence of the phenomenon and its linguistic representation. The author gives her interpretation of ideologeme, describes its properties and linguistic means of actualization on the basis of English news articles on protests in Ukraine in 2013-2014. It is ascertained that ideologeme is verbalized by the complex of lexical, syntactic and stylistic means. The conclusion is made about the leading role of ideologeme in the English media discourse during information war.
