ON THE CONCEPT "EDUCATION" IN RUSSIAN LINGUISTIC CULTURE

Abstract. The article considers the ways of the verbalization of the concept "education" in Russian linguistic culture. The analysis of the key conceptual characteristics of this concept is carried out in order to identify its most significant cognitive and functional features recorded in various dictionaries. The analysis is preceded by a brief historical excursus to determine the origins of the formation and evolution of the concept in the culture under consideration. The author identifies the typology of the conceptual characteristics of Russian education. The proposed research approach can play a special role in typological and cross-cultural studies aimed at finding ethno-cultural constants and dominants. This view will be of interest to specialists in the field of cognitive linguistics, as well as translators, lexicologists, practicing linguodidactics.
