SOMEONE ELSE’S IDEA IN THE FUNCTION OF INDIRECT INFLUENCE

Abstract. For the first time the article describes one of the cognitive methods of indirect influence on people’s vital activity. We consider those situations when a person becomes accidentally aware of someone else’s idea, and this circumstance entails changes in his/her life. The method of linguistic units identification makes it possible to reveal the characteristic features of the text components under study. The author comes to the conclusion that they include harmonious combination of universal social ideas and motivating sphere of the individual’s consciousness, high explicative valence of the text, the condensed form of presentation and the dominance of inner speech in the narrative. Finally, the paper notes that we are subjected to indirect influence on the part of the people, who possess ideas valuable for us, voluntarily and selectively.
