ANALYSIS OF THE MODERN BRITISH AND AMERICAN ANTHROPONYMYCON

Abstract. The paper argues that modern cultural and socio-cultural realia in the English-speaking countries influence considerably the choice of anthroponymycon. Special attention is paid to the differences between Great Britain and the USA residents in choosing anthroponyms. The author shows how changes in the religious and cultural life of Great Britain and the USA residents influence the choice of certain anthroponyms. The relevance of the study is in the fact that it shows clearly the influence of such key cultural component as religion on the current choice of anthroponymycon in Great Britain and the USA.
