THE CONCEPT "MOTHERLAND" IN ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LINGUISTIC CULTURES

Abstract. The article is carried out in line with a relatively new direction in the science of language - linguistic conceptology - and is devoted to the study of the concept "Motherland", its mental and linguistic realization in Russian and English. Scientific research is conducted on the basis of poetic texts of the English-language and the Russian-language authors with the use of various lexicographic sources. The study is divided conditionally into several stages described in the paper. The result of the research is a comprehensive linguo-mental analysis of the concept "Motherland" in the Russian and English languages, revealing similarities and differences in the perception and verbalization of the original linguistic-cultural formation in two languages.
