PROSPECTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF LANGUAGE SITUATION IN ASTRAKHAN REGION

Abstract. The article offers a comparative analysis of the communicative behaviour of the Astrakhan natural bilinguals of the younger generation - the native speakers of the Tatar, Kazakh, Chechen, Avar, Tabasaran, Rutul, Lezgin languages. The tendencies in the functioning of the languages in question are gradually distinguished and the prospects of the development of the language situation within the boundaries of the designated area are substantiated. In particular, it is stated that the demographic and communicative capacities of the languages in question do not match.
