FEATURES OF RENDERING CONNOTATIONS IN TRANSLATION OF EXPRESSIVE-EVALUATIVE METAPHORS IN PUBLICISTIC TEXTS

Abstract. The article describes the patterns of rendering connotations of expressive-evaluative metaphors, revealed during the comparative semantic analysis of metaphors in the texts of the modern Anglo-American media and their translations into Russian. The authors analyze the ways of translating metaphors and the completeness of rendering connotation components, depending on the chosen translation strategy. The morphological structure of the metaphorical units of the original and the translation is considered.
