Abstract. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the address category functioning in the Chinese family discourse. The author makes an attempt to reveal the specificity of using the various types and forms of addresses from the standpoint of their lexical-semantic and pragmatic characteristics. Anthroponyms, emotional-evaluative appellatives, terms of kinship, zoo- and phytomorphisms, as well as some abusive words and expressions are subjected to the analysis. As a result of the research, it is established that different types of addresses are characterized by specific semantic content, different evaluative markedness and illocutive orientation.
