ORGANIZATION OF STUDENTS’ INDEPENDENT WORK IN THE PROCESS OF TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AT A NONLINGUISTIC UNIVERSITY

Abstract. The article analyzes the notions "independence" and "autonomy" from the point of view of psychology and pedagogy. The role of students’ independent work in the process of teaching a foreign language is revealed. The authors consider various aspects of the organization of independent work of students, specializing in the scientific and natural direction of training at universities, in the process of teaching a foreign language. Various types of activities that contribute to the formation of students’ motivation and autonomy are discussed.
