Abstract. The article focuses on the study of the linguistic-cultural specificity of the king’s image in the Old English literature. The author also considers the main axiological scenarios of the Old English king, actualized in his plot functions. The linguistic-stylistic frame of the image is formed by the value dominants of the old English culture; the speech level of the analysis represents the king as an authoritarian ruler, endowed with the right to express the common values of the whole nation. The conceptual dominants of the image include the axiologemes of kinship, wealth, war, glory, age, wisdom, courage, power and protection.
