PROFANATION OF THE SACRED AS NATURAL COMMUNICATION PROCESS: HISTORY AND CURRENT STATUS OF THE ISSUE

Abstract. The article discusses the communicative characteristics of sacred and profane texts. The paper focuses on the components of the communicative act, in which sacred and profane texts are involved. The issue of the author and the recipient in both types of the text, the reasons for the profanation of the sacred text are touched upon. The study attempts to highlight another category of communication - the presence of context or the combination of text and context in sacred and profane texts. In addition, some aspects of the problem of compliance of the reader’s understanding with the author’s intent are examined.
