Abstract. The article is devoted to the complex consideration of the philosophical-culturological, journalistic, literary-artistic heritage of the famous Russian writer, thinker and journalist Vsevolod Nikanorovich Ivanov, who reflected rich and complex experience of understanding dramatic events of the era of revolutions, the civil war and emigration in the historical-cultural context and made a significant contribution to the understanding of the "West-East" problem in his universal and multifaceted creative work. Basing on new factual material from the funds and archives of the Far Eastern emigration, unstudied by the domestic literary criticism, the author considers the issue of the importance of Vs. N. Ivanov’ contribution to the development of the Russian literature and journalism, to the elaboration of the "West-East" problem, of its topicality.
