LANDSCAPE IN COMMUNICATIVE SPACE OF DETECTIVE TEXT

Abstract. The article deals with the landscape function in the communicative space of the detective text. The author analyzes the detective text as a form of speech interaction between the author and the reader. By the example of St. Booth’s and P. Robinson’s novels, it is ascertained that the communicative space of the detective text is formed in accordance with the criminal practice of public life, and the landscape fulfills the function of a means of communication. On the basis of the conducted research, it is revealed that the landscape fulfills both a pragmatic function, transferring the author’s intention, and stylistic one, realizing the fomenting tension strategy.
