FIGURATIVENESS AS AN ESSENTIAL COMPONENT OF CONCEPTUALIZATION IN THE MODERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE (BY THE EXAMPLE OF THE CONCEPT ‘LAW’)

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the figurative component of the concept LAW in the modern English language. The figurative component of the basic concept of legal discourse reveals 12 conceptual features in its objectification in journalistic discourse. The paper establishes that the anthropomorphic metaphor dominates in the realization of the concept LAW in the journalistic English discourse. The author reveals the discursive interaction expressed by the objectification of the metaphors of the legislation sphere in journalistic discourse, on the basis of which it is possible to speak about discursive mixing.
