ANDREI BELY AND PAVEL FLORENSKY: INTUITIONS ABOUT A MAN

Abstract. The article correlates artistic and philosophical intuitions about a man by Andrei Bely and Pavel Florensky. The possibility of the comparative analysis is conditioned by the spiritual closeness of the writer and the philosopher, their personal communication. The conceptions by Bely and Florensky are important for revealing the trajectory of spiritual searches at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries and the formation of a modern personality model. The symbolist Andrei Bely and the philosopher-cosmist Pavel Florensky embody the anthropocosmic model of a man expanding the limits of his capabilities in their "life and creativity". It is the "cosmic" person, who can overcome the ontological "spoilage" of the world and return to the "undamaged" "Eden" reality. This is the essence of anthropodicy. The goal of symbolic creativity is to point the way for spiritual ascension to the humanity.
