REPRESENTATION OF THE CONCEPT "SILENCE" IN THE ENGLISH PHRASEOLOGY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the consideration of the concept "SILENCE" by the material of the English phraseological units from the positions of cultural linguistics. An attempt to structure the investigated concept is made. The representations of the conceptual, figurative and value components of the concept are analyzed in detail, while their interrelation and conditionality by culturological factors are emphasized; the most significant conceptual features, images and values expressed in the English phraseology are revealed.
