CATEGORICITY IN THE SPHERE OF INSTITUTIONAL DISCOURSE IN THE RUSSIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article deals with the category of categoricity in the following subtypes of institutional discourse: political, legal (judicial), military and medical. Categoricity is realized in the form of a categorical statement - plain, clear, pronounced in a straightforward and confident way. The author focuses attention on the identification of set features of categoricity realization and the description of linguistic means. The comparison of the Russian and English languages makes it possible to demonstrate the similarities and differences in the manifestation of this phenomenon.
