THEATRICAL METAPHOR IN POLITICAL DISCOURSE OF THE MASS MEDIA IN GERMANY

Abstract. The article deals with the specificity of using the theatrical metaphor in the political discourse of the German mass media at the current stage of the Russian-German relations development. Based on metaphorical statements which make the image of Russia from the texts covering political events, the author concludes that the words with the source sphere "theater" are used both to emphasize the unnaturalness of the behavior of Russia and to create a positive image of the country playing a constructive role on the international scene.
