THE CAUCASIAN BRANCH OF THE RUSSIAN LITERATURE OF THE XIX CENTURY: A VIEW ON A WOMAN

Abstract. For the first time in the Russian literature by the material of the Caucasian works by the Russian writers A. V. Druzhinin, A. A. Bestuzhev-Marlinskii, M. Yu. Lermontov, L. N. Tolstoy this article considers the image of the North Caucasian mountain woman in close correlation with the image of the Slavic (Russian) woman. The purpose of the article is to determine the gender status of women in military circumstances. The final result of the study is the identification of different directions of masculine and feminine thinking. The expansive, militaristic consciousness of a man is contrasted with the peace mission of a woman during the Caucasian War (1817-1864).
