Abstract. The article examines the problem of translator’s professional listening. The author considers the principle of dialogic orientation in translator’s listening, describes its characteristics and means of expression in the oral consecutive one-sided translation. The paper analyzes the functions of translator’s listening dialogic nature at the cognitive-informational, emotive-behavioral and regulatory-organizational levels and proposes methodological solutions for teaching translator’s listening.
