"ACTIVITY" AS A MOTIVATED DERIVATIVE MEANING OF SEMANTIC STRUCTURE OF PREPOSITIONS OF MOTION

Abstract. The article analyzes the peculiarities of functioning of the English preposition "to" actualizing the fragment "activity". In this fragment the author identifies such characteristic components as deixis, purposiveness, and non-contact nature. The paper emphasizes evolutional and semantic relation of the preposition "to" with the categories of Infinitive and Dative case. The researcher provides comparative analysis of functioning of preposition "to", derivative preposition "unto" and morphemes from other languages.
