Abstract. The main content of the research is the analysis of the image of Istanbul in Ernest Hemingway’s feature articles written during the Greco-Turkish War. Considerable attention is paid to contrasting the image of Istanbul, represented by the writer, to the image that was formed in the Western consciousness at the beginning of the XX century. It is noted that it was in the feature articles that author’s style of the writer, characterized by laconism, began to be formed.
