Abstract. The article analyzes the system of images in the novel by the Bashkir writer M. Absalyamov "Halfa". The story is focused on Idris image as a representative of new generation of Muslim spiritual leaders. The author draws parallels with other literary works on this subject, and it allows him to identify both typological and distinctive features of this novel, in particular, the following ones: new interpretation of clergymen’s personalities, subjectivity of narration, prevalence of lyrical element, and the motive of kindness, charity.
