FEATURES OF JAPANESE FILMONYMS: STRUCTURAL ASPECT

Abstract. The article reveals the problem of linguistic features of film titles. Filmonyms are considered as the object of onomastics, and one of the types of small text. By the example of the titles of Japanese films the author attempts to study the structural features of filmonyms. The study identifies major structural groups of Japanese filmonyms. As the main reason for the preferential use of incomplete sentences the author highlights the desire for brevity that allows the viewer to understand and remember easier the title of the film.
