SPECIFICITY OF THE PROCESS OF GERMAN POLITICAL LANGUAGE METAPHORIZATION

Abstract. Metaphorical processes in word-formation inspired numerous scientific discussions. The article aims to discover the specificity of German political metaphor functioning. The author examines the meaningful functions of political metaphors and identifies their basic metaphorical models: war; architecture; human organism / illness; sport / game / theatre; animal and vegetative world. The paper concludes that metaphorization will continue to play a key role in language-building.
