THE COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF HEADLINES OF ENGLISH-LANGUAGE GLOSSY PERIODICALS (GENDER ASPECT)

Abstract. The article deals with the gender characteristics of the headlines of English-language glossy periodicals. The analysis is based on the study of the magazines "Cosmopolitan" and "Men’s Health". The research is conducted taking into account the themes of the headlines, their language content and the pragmatic factor. The author describes the typical feminine and masculine characteristics inherent in the potential readers of the magazines.
