Abstract. The article is devoted to analyzing the content of historical and cultural standard as a scientific basis of school historical education. The paper examines its structure, content, basic approaches and the possibility of practical realization. The author identifies learners’ common difficulties arising due to large amount of academic content, and unequal distribution of this content for academic years. The researcher emphasizes the objective approach of the standard to Russian history and its role in the struggle with historical falsification.
