Abstract. The object of the research presented in the article is the ethnotoponymy of Southern Yakutia - a group of ethnonyms naming tribes, peoples and other ethnic units that used to live in the given territory. The field materials of the Department of Russian Philology of Technical Institute (Branch) of M. K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University in Neryungri collected from 1999 to 2010 with the direct participation of the authors of the article are the main source of the research. On the topic of the study, the authors have compiled a card-index of 900 units, the data of which are the subject of the research. Maps of different specialization and Evenki-Russian dictionaries are also served as sources. Among the presented toponyms the ethnotoponyms of the Even-Evenki origin predominate, the majority of which are generic names. This is conditioned by the generic organization of society among the Tungus people. The names of the Tungus neighboring peoples and self-names are also presented in the article.
Key words and phrases: топонимика, этнотопонимы, генонимы, иноэтнические названия, автоэтноним, toponymy, ethnotoponyms, genonyms, foreign ethnic names, autoethnonym
