SAGAS OF ANDEMIRKAN AND HEROIC FAIRY TALE

Abstract. In the Adyghe folklore studies the cycle about Andemirkan was studied most of all in connection with the heroic Nart epos. In this article the first attempt is made to characterize the motives present in the tales about this character that are typical of heroic fairy tales. The author considers such significant motives as a wonderful birth, rapid growth, heroic childhood, getting a wonderful horse, heroic matchmaking, wonderful properties of a horse and weapons and much more. Considerable attention is paid to the aesthetic role of these motives in the tales dedicated to the named character.
