PRAGMATIC POTENTIAL OF THE UNITS WITH MIXED CATEGORIAL SEMANTICS AND PECULIARITIES OF THEIR TRANSLATION FROM ENGLISH INTO RUSSIAN

Abstract. The article examines nouns and adjectives with mixed categorial semantics. The author analyzes pragmatic potential of these linguistic units and focuses on the translation of nouns and adjectives with mixed categorial semantics from English into Russian. In this connection the paper provides the examples of translating text fragments with such nouns and adjectives from English into Russian. The author identifies the techniques to translate the units of mixed categorial semantics.
