Abstract. The article considers the main problems of training of scientific and technical texts translation, as well as methodological potential of innovative approaches and techniques in solving these issues. The research object is the concept of written translation as a kind of speech activity. The author makes an attempt to reveal psychological and linguistic characteristics of the written translation, as they form the base for the application of innovative methods of training of this kind of translation.
