THE CREATIVE WORK OF MODERN INDONESIAN WRITER DEWI LESTARI: POSTMODERNISM OF WOMEN’S PROSE

Abstract. In the article the review of the works of modern Indonesian writer Dewi Lestari who is one of the brightest representatives of the female literary trend of sastra wangi and the mass postmodern prose at the end of the XX - XXI century is presented. Furthermore, Dewi Lestari writes works that relate to the equally popular youth women’s prose chick-lit. The author analyzes the series of "Supernova", consisting of six novels, the novel "Paper Boats" and three prose collections: "Mother", "Coffee Philosophy" and "Rectoverso (On Both Sides)". Dewi Lestari’s creative work is considered in terms of belonging to the mentioned literary trends, and the main themes and problems of each work are emphasized.
