THE COMPETENCE-BASED APPROACH TO TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS OF A TECHNICAL HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENT

Abstract. The main goal of postgraduate education is to achieve a high quality level of professional knowledge of a foreign language by a postgraduate student, which gives a future scientist an opportunity to carry out confidently his/her research activity within the framework of the world scientific community. The competence-based approach provides for the formation of a wide range of knowledge, skills and abilities enabling a post-graduate student of a technical higher education establishment to use a foreign language in practical scientific interests.
